About My Practice
I generally see clients between 9 am and 3pm, Monday through Friday, with some additional appointments in the late afternoon and evenings. My fee is $120 for a 50-minute session. Sometimes I recommend 75 minute sessions which we will schedule in advance.
I am a preferred provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield and am happy to do the billing for you if you carry this plan; you will be responsible at the time of services for your copay or coinsurance. I can provide services under other insurances as an out of network provider; you may have to pay my fee at the time of services and consult with your insurance carrier about how to obtain reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company about the details of your coverage.
Body-oriented Psychotherapy
| There is something in nature that forms patterns. We, as part of nature, also form patterns. The mind is like the wind and the body is like the sand; if you want to know how the wind is blowing, you can look at the sand. - Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, founder of Body-Mind Centering® |
Body-oriented psychotherapy uses awareness, attention, and intention within our body systems and mindstates to support our entire selves. This approach to therapy can help us effectively navigate the challenges we face, both internal and external, and to experience the joy of dwelling within our bodies from moment to moment, even in the face of pain or discomfort. The approaches used in body-oriented psychotherapy can be gentle, life affirming, and even delightful at times. - Learn More
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
| In the present moment you might even transform the past. -Thich Nhat Hanh |
EMDR is a therapy modality which has been found to be helpful for significantly reducing pain or discomfort related to past experiences or traumas. It is also helpful for reducing anticipatory anxiety, fear or other discomfort about upcoming, actual, or imagined future events. EMDR utilizes bilateral stimulation (auditory, kinesthetic or visual stimulation alternating between left and right sides of the body) within a structured protocol. This helps to change how information is stored in the brain about that event. - Learn More
